They begin their voyage after witnessing the cremation of another friend in his son’s absence. Soumitra Chatterjee, Poran Bandopadhyay and Arun Mukhopadhyay play the three buddies in "Peace Haven".

Expectations are high from the smart writer-director who has also delivered the outstanding films Dwando, Nobel Chor, Shyamal Uncle Turns off the Lights and most recently Kadambari. "Peace Haven" launched its first look recently in Kolkata.

The new film portrays an allegorical journey of three friends in their 70s to make preparations for their death and ironically they realize and reflect life through that journey. Loosely based on a real section of Kolkata citizens, it reflects the lives of  people trying to cope with fast and invasive changes in society, values and lifestyle over the last four decades.

The film deploys an off-beat narrative technique and "hallucinatory realism" resulting in a treatment that is a bit unreal and full of dark humor.
