Mumbai, Dec 17 (Washington Bangla Radio) - The sci-fi phenomenon returns to Indian Cinema with a powerhouse combination of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.

Five years ago, Kalanidhi Maran's Tamil blockbuster Robot (Enthiran) directed by S. Shankar swept Indian cinema away. Introducing Asia's second highest paid actor and superstar Rajinikant as an android and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Tamil cinema, the film became a game-changer in visual effects and presentation in Indian film. Oscar winner Allah Rakha Rahman directed music for the most expensive film made in its time (somewhere around Rs. 180 crores were spent on it).

Robot 2 / Enthiran 2 - the sequel - has now gone on floors yesterday. British actress-model Amy Jackson has the challenge of appearing opposite Rajinikanth this time. Akshay Kumar is also in the star cast. A R Rahman directs music again. The producers tried to rope in Terminator series Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger to debut in Indian cinema with Robot-2, but the antagonist's role ultimately went to Akshay Kumar.
