Mumbai, December 10 (Washington Bangla Radio) - Actress Ridhima Sud in ‘Kajarya’ directed by Madhureeta Anand has become the top contender for a National Award. Sud (aka Noorie Sood) won hearts as Noorie in Zoya Akhtar's ‘Dil Dhadkne Do’, and has once again made an impact with her powerful performance in Kajarya.

With two successful films in her debut year, Ridhima’s career has been impressive so far. Impressed by the eye-opening script, Minister of State for Defence, Govt. of India, Rao Inderjit Singh expressed his interest to screen ‘Kajarya’ in the Parliament. Sud debuted in the fashion world in September as cover girl for Pernia's Pop Up Shop followed by becoming the face of Beauty for Elle's Beauty spread and Cosmo's Fashion IT girl  in October.

‘Kajarya’ sheds light on the evils of society and a journey to tackle them. Ridhima plays the role of a young self-motivated journalist, seen in a very different role from Noorie.

She has been globally appreciated by audience and critics for her strong character portrayal. ‘Kajarya’ was voted by Forbes as the film to watch in 2015.
