As reported by WBRi earlier, the film is based on Khaled Hossani’s award winning novel "The Kite Runner". The film was completed a few years ago and was produced to be broadcast on television. However, the director yearned for a commercial big screen release and roped in a financier for theatrical release on 6th December.

The film's premiere, held a day after opening in theaters, saw the cast and crew having a gala. The two kids around whom the story-line revolves are portrayed with elan in the film by Soham Moitra and Rohit.

Soham was just four years old when the film was made. Riingo asked Soham if he remembered the shooting days. Rohit is a bit older than Soham, and was seen pulling Soham's leg about how he had cried when filming a difficult scene.

It was clear that they may have shot the movie five years ago but they were still living those days in their minds. Actors Joy Sengupta and Kaushik Chakrabarty were also spotted at the premiere.

The audience was visibly impressed with the mesmerizing frames directed by Riingo after the screening of the film. The outstanding performance by the two child actors was also a major topic of discussion. A number of guests approached the two boys to compliment them. Yes, the evening definitely belonged to the youngsters more than anyone else.

Riingo dropped some clues to his next project at the premiere. He hinted at a sports-oriented film tentatively titled ‘Messi’ with Aryann Bhowmik as the protagonist. Aryann's performances alongside superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee in films like Chalo Paltai and Mishwar Rohoshyo are memorable, as his silver screen debut in Riingo’s Neel Rajar Deshe as a child artist.
