Nagrik Nukkad: Know your Rights & Responsibilities

Queer Ink to organize the event in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai


Dec 3 (Washington Bangla Radio): Queer Ink an initiative which is has been representing the Queer lives in India is back with its popular event called ‘Nagrik Nukkad’ or ‘Citizenship Café’. This event will be conducted on December 6, 2015 in four major cities of India: Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

The agenda of this event is to discuss the rights and responsibilities as a citizen of India and help make a powerful connection with the values stated in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution. The discussions will shed light on the issues faced by the LGBT community, the socio-economic problems and outline the actions that can bring change in the society and practice the Preamble.

Ms. Shobna S. Kumar, Founder – Queer Ink says, “Nagrik Nukkad along with ‘We the People’ will serve as a platform to openly discuss issues and arrive at possible solutions that will help bring ease to the distress that is being caused in this regard. It will also make people aware and help them decode a lot of unanswered questions on queer issues. We want be able to have a conversation that can be silly but important to bust myths and confusion that any one may have irrespective of being straight.”
