Kolkata, Dec 27, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) Biye Not Out is an upcoming Kolkata Bangla  movie starring Rituparna Sengupta, Tota Ray Chowdhury, Indrajit Chakraborty, Dwitipriya Roy and others. This is a comedy flick directed by the renowned duo of Sudeshna Roy (interview) and Abhijit Guha who earlier have wooed the audience with hits like ‘Teen yaari kotha’ and ‘Bapi Bari jaa’.

Speaking with WBRi, Tota explained his character in the film. “Biye Not Out is a very different movie in my life because my real personality and my character in this movie are so much reversed. I am playing a very frivolous character here, who loves to enjoy every bit of life. He never cares for discipline - even does not want to bind himself in any restricted orbit of life. He is playful - his most passionate obsession in life is photography. Wildlife photography attracts him and makes him devote himself to nature and animals. He goes out by himself to enjoy safaris and nightlife in forest areas. In this film for the first time I have applied my dance prowess in a diverse manner. Before this I have used many dance forms right from Salsa and break-dance to modern. But for this film I have danced in tribal form as directed by my choreographer. One of the dances in this film is a mixture of Bengali and Odiya dance forms. The integration has given birth to a distinct dance form for this movie. The most interesting thing is that it is called ‘Tiger dance’ and is folkish in nature. I believe the audience will get to see a very unusual dance from my side after a long time’’.

Rituparna, who is being seen in a different shade in every film, will appear in a cropped-hair look. She will also be sporting funky sleeveless shirts and Capri pants for the role. How she manages her new look with two other films (currently Rituparna is also busy in shooting two major films - ‘Aleek Sukh’ directed by Shiboprasad Mukhopadhyay and Nandita Roy, and Agnidev Chatterjee’s next film titled Mrs. Sen where she will appear opposite Rohit Roy) is an interesting thing to watch for.

After mostly serious roles in the films like Tintorettor Jishu, Angshumaner Chhobi, Hitlist, Chaal and Paglu 2 the macho actor Tota Roy Chowdhury will be seen in this Sudeshna-Abhijit comic venture ‘Biye not out’.

For the first time Tota will be working under the direction of Sudeshna and Abhijit. In this comedy he will be seen with Rituparna after a gap of over four years. They were last seen together in Mon Amour: Shesher Kobita Revisited directed by Subhrajit Mitra (interview). 2013 seems to be shaping up well for Tota as two more of his films Ek Phaali Rod and ‘Aborto’ are also in the pipeline along with ‘Biye Not out’.

A song sequence of this film has been shot in a zoo, where Rituparna and Tota will be seen together. In this film Tota is a wildlife lover and photographer, making the zoo is an integral part of the sequence.

The film is produced under the banner of Rose Valley Films and targeted for a release date in March - April 2013. Abhijit and Sudeshna are currently having a great time entertaining the Indian Bangla movie audience and are expected to deliver box-office success again with this hilarious comedy film which sounds like a good start for their next year with more projects including a sequel to Cross Connection tentatively titled Cross Connection 2 as well as  Hercules also lined up.
