Kolkata, Dec 24, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) Sequels are being made for almost all blockbuster Indian Kolkata Bangla movies -  Challenge 2 or Paglu 2 being recent cases in the point.

Following the trend, acclaimed director Raj Chakraborty (interview) had embarked on making ‘Prem Amar 2’, sequel to the Soham and Payel starrer super-hit 2009 romance-tragedy film ‘Prem Amar’.

Having realized Prem Amar 2 has a bigger star cast and a totally different plot, the film was subsequently titled ‘Bojhena shey Bojhena’ and has an expected release date of Friday 12/28 in Kolkata theaters.

Raj Chakraborty is well regarded as a consistently successful director in Tollywood. He has retained Soham and Payel as the leads, who will be supported by the very handsome Abir Chatterjee and silver-screen newcomer Mimi Chakraborty (interview) - the popular TV actress whose feature film debut was with Bapi Bari Jaa. Mimi has already attracted attention by her impressive performances in her first two films.

The story of Bojhena She Bojhena starts with two buses colliding on the highway in Behrampore because of aggressive driving. The film then goes into an extended flashback.

The occupants of the two buses include students, a newly-wed couple, a guy taking his girlfriend to meet his parents, and girl traveling to Kolkata for the first time - all with their own hopes and aspirations that can be shattered by irresponsible drivers.

Though Soham and Payel are two of the lead actors, they have not been paired this time. Instead Payel plays the love interest of Abir Chatterjee’s character while Mimi has been cast opposite Soham.

Apart from the four of them, Sayoni, Kaushik, Debomoy and Susmita have played important roles in the movie.

Bojhena Se Bojhena marks the reunion of the director and the production house Shree Venkatesh Films after a long gap of nearly two years. There have also not been many tragedy films in Bengali after "Chirodini Tumi Je Amar" and "Prem Amar". Bojhena se Bojhena is expected to be a welcome attempt at a film of the romance-tragedy genre.

This film reportedly has moved away from the cliched boy-meets-girl, boy-chases-girl and boy-rescues-girl story. A love story with a tragic ending never fails to touch the hearts of the audience and all Kolkata Bangla movie lovers know how well Raj Chakraborty can handle such themes.

The music of the movie is composed by a newcomer Arindam Chatterjee. The music director is very confident about his debut and has composed some trendy, melodious and peppy Bengali film songs. It is said to have four songs which are shot at real locations.

Bojhena se Bojhena will have only one lip-synced song with the other three tracks played in the  background score. All the four songs are penned by Prosen.

Arijit Singh and Ash King have performed Bengali film songs. A duet has also been performed by Somlata Acharya Chowdhury (interview) and Timir.

With a bigger star cast, inspiring plot and excellent timing of the Christmas holiday release, Bojhena se Bojhena is all set to win hearts and make the box office turn green with cash.
