Official Making Song of Ravi Kishan's Chalis Chaurasi

Bhojpuri Movie Hero Ravi Kishan, Naseeruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni in Chalis ChaurasiMumbai, Dec 23, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Exploring a humour crime genre, Chaalis Chauraasi is like a rollercoaster ride in an amusement park, except that it takes place in a police van. The story of the film revolves around 4 cops Pankaj Suri aka SIR (Naseeruddin Shah), Albert Pinto aka PINTO (Kay Kay Menon), Balvinder Singh aka BOBBY (Atul Kulkarni) and Shakti Chinappa aka SHAKTI (Ravi Kishan); who see an opportunity to a great future when they are given a mission to pull off.

Things take a twist when another cop stops their van en-route and takes them as his backup to catch a dangerous gangster. The story unfolds through the night where the fine line between law and crime is repeatedly crossed, leading to unexpected situations, sometimes very hilarious. The 4 guys who think of themselves as very rough and tough, macho men encounter situations where they are forced to reckon with a different truth about themselves.

The film is written by Yash-Vinay. Music in the film is by Lalit Pandit and Directed by Hriday Shetty. The director writes, "There are two aspects to how Chaalis Chauraasi was conceived, Life imitating art or art imitating life? A chance discussion amongst friends one evening on the recent night patrolling of cops reported in the media, got us excited and led to the germination of the story idea. Four undercover cops who are completely different in characteristics and whose fronts are totally deceptive are given a mission to pull off, and for that they have to go as a night patrol team. The events following unfold in a manner which keep the viewer not only guessing but in splits as the film is laced with smart lines and moments the four guys are not expecting to encounter. Feature films inspired from real-life events usually carry an additional curiosity factor and are more believable by the audience. The film falls under humour crime genre and has four primary male characters in the film – all with colourful personalities and there is continuous entertainment through the film in the form of humour, interesting dialogues, an item song, thrilling action and unpredictable edge-of-the-seat screenplay. Another aspect of this story that got us excited was the fact that with the right casting, this film’s impact could be significantly increased multi-fold. Therefore once we started working on the characters we had visualized the actors who would play these parts and we do believe that we were able to pull off a casting coup of sorts as it’s a first for all the actors to play the parts what they are enacting in this film. I firmly believe that USP of the film is the cast coming together in a unique and original humour crime script. We are all very excited and looking at a release in the last quarter of 2011."

The film falls under humor crime genre.
