The New face of movie marketing

Mumbai, Dec 2, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) This year seems to be a year of innovations. Each and every movie seems to be on a path of digital innovation to make their movie more exciting and fun, be it in the process of direction or promotion.

Promotion in the digital front seems to be the ‘in thing’. Digital Posters definitely has been one such innovation for movie promotions. A very cost effective way for movie promotion, the idea was first used by Yash Raj for the promotion of their movie Ek Tha Tiger.  Fox Star India has used it as well, to their advantage, for the promotion of their movie Ek Deewana Tha.

Ek Deewana Tha (EDT) to be released on January 13, 2011 has released two digital posters till date. EDT’s digital outreach partner EveryMedia, has been played a prominent part in the creation of these posters. The posters created a lot of hype in the entertainment industry. The first poster generated a viewership of 23,113. The very first day, around 5397 people watched it on YouTube.

And it does not end with the posters. EveryMedia has also created a lot of visibility for the movie form the digital front, especially through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. With still a month to go, for the movie release, we are still waiting to see what other innovative things the agency does to make the movie a marketing success.
