Tollywood Hero INDRANIL at BEDENI Film Press ConferenceCalcutta, Dec 23, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) A lot of literary novels from the greats in the field have been made into films in the recent past. Very recently we have seen films like Laboratory (Rabindranath Tagore) and Moner Manush (Sunil Gangopadhay), and Bedeni is the latest example of a novel being turned into a film. In this case the author happens to be the great Tarashankar Bandopadhay.

This film is about a central character Radhika who deserts her husband and starts her life with Sambhu, a snake charmer. Both Shambhu and Radhika start showing their tricks to the villagers, but Shambhu starts losing his charm due to his illness.

The villagers start getting attracted to Pyarelal Circus whose various tricks and games fascinate them. Sambhu and Radhika completely lose business and Sambhu hatches a plan to malign Keshto, but that plan in fact brings Radhika closer to Keshto as she saves him from being maligned .What happens next remains to be seen.

The film has been completely shot in Purulia and the beautiful hard ruggedness of the area has been framed very well by cinematographer Ashim Bose. The film is woman centric and Rituparna Sengupta as Radhika should definitely shine in the role.

The film also stars Rajesh Sharma, Indraneil Sengupta and Rimjhim Gupta other than Rituparna Sengupta. The film has been directed by Anjan Das and the music is by Jyotishka Dasgupta. The editor is Sanjib Dutta.

The film is the first production of Heartbeatz Productions (comprising of J.K.Chakravarty, Ranjan Dutta and Pamela Nath) and is presented by Bhavna Aaj-O-Kal, an endeavour of the lead actress herself.

A press meet of the film was held at Princeton Club on 21st Dec, 2010. Supriya Devi, legendary actress of yesteryear was also present at the meet as a special guest.
