Calcutta, Jan 25, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Directed by acclaimed Bengali film-maker Bappaditya Bandopadhyay (exclusive interview), Kagojer Bou (The Paper Wife) has a release date of Feb 4, 2011 at over 30 cinema halls in Kolkata, including Nandan 1 (4 PM ), Metro, Jaya, Menoka, Minar (12.30 PM), Bijoli (12.30 PM), Chabighar (12.30 PM), Fame (Hiland Park, South City), Inox (City Centre, 89 cinemas), Malancha, Ajanta and Jayanti (Barrakpore ).

Kagojer Bou has been granted a rating of U/A by the government-controlled Indian Film Censor Board - the rating is parallel to our MPAA's PG-13 rating.

The film is adapted from a novel of the same title set four decades ago by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. Bappaditya has given the film a modern interpretation. The star cast includes Paoli Dham, Rahul, Priyanka, Bratya Basu (interview), Nandini and Joy among others. Gaurav "Gabu" Chattopadhyay (interview) debuts as the music director.

Kagojer Bou is adapted from a novel of the same title by renowned Bengali writer Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, and Bappaditya has given the story from 40 years ago a contemporary touch in his film.

Official synopsis

Upal is desperate for money and is used by Subimal, a businessman, to get close to Preeti, a young girl already in love with another guy. In this get rich-quick scheme , Upal plays a trick to break the relation of Preeti and her boy friend and bring her to Subimal. His next task is even tougher Now he has to fall in love with Shreya , the legal wife of Subimal, to build a divorce case. But the game plan goes wrong as the two women prove that they are not easy pushovers.
