gori tere pyar mein

Kolkata, November 30 (Washington Bangla Radio): Bollywood actors Imraan Khan and Kareena Kapoor graced the city of Joy for promoting their latest film, ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’. Puneet Malhotra, the young director of the film also accompanied them to interact with the media of the city.

WBRi asked the trio about the village that is being seen in the promo. Imraan took the question and said, “The sequence of the village that we named as Jhumri was actually shot in different locations. We had to shoot outside of Bhuj and we had to shoot in another village which is near to Pune. We needed two bridges for the film, one rope bridge and one Pakka bridge which we obviously could not create in any village. We had to re-create them at a film city at Mumbai. But all credit goes to Puneet put all the sequences together and made it believable that all are the parts of the same village. I also want to thanks the production team for providing us with a five star treatment even at a village located near Pakistan Border.”

Puneet interrupted at this point and declared that Imraan is lying. He said, “Imraan ‘ka to band baja hua tha’as he was melting in the hot weather. All thanks to Imraan himself for not giving dates earlier than the summer. And amidst all that he had to ran around chasing chickens and cows.”

Puneet went back to the same village for shooting this time. I remember the village as a place where I had a lot of jalebis, around twenty at a go. It was a fabulous experience.”

Kareena also said, “My mother in law (Sharmila Tagore) is very lucky to work with Satyajit Ray, one of the great from Bengal. The Bengali directors are known for their excellent sense of the scripts. I would like to work in a Bengali film though there will be a bit of language problem. We can manage that during dubbing.”

WBRi asked young director Puneet Malhotra what will be his take as the most memorable moment of the film. Puneet said, “ I thing one have to see the entire film to get its flavour. The second half of the film is very exciting. I bet that you have never seen Imraan and Kareena in that kind of set up.”

Kareena declared that Puneet is going to be a rom-com specialist and after Karan Johar he will be the one who can make romantic film with lot of humour in it.
