Kolkata, Nov 24, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio) After his critically acclaimed and box-office successful movie Bedroom, Tollywood Calcutta Bangla film director Mainak Bhowmik is busy shooting for his next directorial venture Ami aar amar girlfriend. Mainak Bhowmick is well-known for his out-of-the-box thinking and his well laid-out plots for the audience which captivate their imagination and make the film interesting for them. With his latest film ‘Ami Aar Amar girlfriend’, the director is gearing up to showcase a comedy film based on the friendship of three girls. This unique story line gives the film an interesting taste. The director says the film is a tribute to the girlfriends he knows of.

The story of the film revolves around the life of three girl friends and the changes in their relationship over a period of time. It also focuses on issues like boys, relationships, aging and diet that girls usually speak about with their girl friends. The film is likely to have an instant connection with the female audience.

Vikram Chatterjee, Parno Mitra, Swastika Mukherjee and Raima Sen lead the cast of the film. Vikram Chatterjee plays the role of Deep. Parno will be seen as Preenita, Raima as Rhea and Swastika as Shreemoyee. The film is based on friendship between these three girls.

Actor Vikram Chatterjee has already worked with director Mainak Bhaumick in the film Bedroom. The actor however will be working for the first time with Parno Mitra in this film. Getting the dates of the busy stars together has helped the director make the film a delight for the audience.

The film has been produced by Anirban Aditya. Urban music helps the Indian Bengali movie to have a city touch. The music selection done by the director makes the film peppy and caters well to the audience that the director wants to target with this film. The film was initially titled “A Girlfriend’s Story”.  However after much consideration, the director changed the name to ‘Ami aar amar girlfriend’ to appeal to the regional audience and give the film a Bengali flavor.

Most of the shooting is been done in various parts of the city of Calcutta. An outdoor shoot of the film was been completed at Mandarmani sea beach of Bengal. The three gorgeous Bengali actresses are featured wearing sexy bikinis for the particular sequence in the film. This will surely be providing eye-poppers for the male audience.

There is also a late night Pajama party sequence at Preenita’s home when the three girls meet after a long time. That sequence will also be quite sensual.

The urban feel and look of the film will be more acceptable to the urban audience than the people in the rural areas. The director feels that women in both the urban area and the smaller towns of the districts share common qualities which are being shown in the film. They will be able to relate well with the story of the film.

The film is awaiting release and one can hope that it will be a funny film and tickles the bones of the audience.
