It contained famous poems like 'Udasin', 'Sankha', 'Africa', 'Meghla Dine'. By Playing the record more or less everyday, he memorized them without knowing their true meaning.

His academic career started in a school called "Sishur Desh" in Bijoygarh, Kolkata. The specialty of the school was its cultural atmosphere which would promote mental development of it's students. Sujoy Roy Choudhury's enrichment was solely dependent on this feature along with enthusiastic encouragement from his parents.

When he grew up a bit, listening to recitations by Kazi Sabyasachi, Sambhu Mitra, Pradip Ghosh and Gauri Ghosh became his only addiction. Their recitations are guidelines for his success. He also studied at Bratati Bandyapadhyay's 'Kabyaon' to polish his recitation skill. Proximity to famous personalities like Pradip Ghosh and Gauri Ghosh resulted in his mental development regarding recitation. Coming close to versatile genius and an eminent Rabindranath Tagore Researcher Arunava Lahiri was one of his most appealing moments in his life.

Many recitation CDs of Sujoy Roy Choudhury have been published under music labels like 'Vabna', 'Ananya Music' and  'Atlatis Music'.

Various daily newspapers such as 'Anandabazar Patrika', 'Saptahik Desh', 'Statesman', 'Telegraph', 'Aajkal', 'Bartaman', 'Saptahik Bartaman' etc. have published their valuable review reports at different times.

He is closely attached with publishing a little magazine 'TALPATER BHAPU' through his own publishing concern 'Muktak Publication'. He also organizes and participates in cultural programs through cultural concerns like 'Bhab-o-rup' and 'Muktak'.
