Washington, DC, Nov 13, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) You may remember we had spoken with actor-director-producer Parambrata Chattopadhyay a few months ago (audio posted here) about his diretorial debut "Jiyo Kaka". Parmbrata's spectacular ascedency in Bengali film continues with many eagerly awaited roles including the lead role in 033 director Birsa Dasgupta's 2nd Bengali feature film "Jani Dekha Hobe" and Srijit Mukherji's to-be-titled 3rd film. In this audio interview, Arijit Chakraborty chats up Parambrata about his next eagerly awaited Bengali movie and upcoming projects.
As you know, the sensational new film-maker Srijit Mukherji (interview) is a close buddy of Parambarata, and Srijit had originally written the story of "Baishe Srabon" in 2008 for a telefilm that Parambrata was on the verge of making at the time. But Parambrata was unable to execute the project due to multiple reasons including an opportunity that presented itself to study at a world-class film school in England as well as a bit of disinterest on the TV channel's part to air a film with the kind of story Srijit had penned. Baishe Srabon finally happened as a full-length Bengali feature film directed by Srijit (his 2nd film after "Autograph") and turned out to be a spectacular success with Parambrata himself in the leading cast.
Like Srijit, Birsa is also a close friend of Parambrata - and often Birsa bounces new ideas off Parambrata. Jani Dekha Hobe is the result of one such exchange of ideas.
Jani Dekha Hobe, which is officially spelt "Jaani Dyakha Hawbe", is essentially a romance drama involving a young couple Megh and Hiya, played by Parambrata and actress Payel Sarkar. They start having seemingly irreconcilable differences, and the film is the story of them getting back together, with the intervention of the character Ishwariprasad aka Ishwar played by Anjan Dutta.
Coming up soon after Jani Dekha Hobe are theatrical release of Anik Dutta's (interview) "Bhooter Bhobisyhot", followed by start of shooting in early December of Srijit Mukherji's next film where actress Koel Mullick appears opposite Parambrata, release on January 20, 2012 of Sujoy Ghosh's Bollywood Hindi film "Kahaani" with Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan, Mainak Bhaumik's "MACH MISHTI & MORE" co-starring Swastika Mukherjee, Sandipan Roy's EKLA AKASH co-starring Parno Mitra, Gautam Ghosh, Debleena Dutta, Rudranil Ghosh and others and so on.

Parambrata and Rudranil Ghosh started their own production house "Workshop" a few months ago in association with Sambandh Films. The first film with Workshop as the line producer went to floor around a fortnight ago. Parambrata also shares with us his thoughts on Workshop's charter to produce intelligent cinema and television software.
