Chinese envoy loses temper over India map

New Delhi, Nov 3 (IBNS): A new controversy erupted on Thursday as Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan lost temper when he was asked by an Indian journalist to react on a map of a Chinese company's brochure that showed Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh as part of China.

Yan told the Indian journalist to 'shut up' when he asked to comment on the matter.

The incident took place at an event on Thursday where a Chinese power company named TBEA signed a pact by which the company was scheduled to invest USD 400 million in the Gujarat.

Controversies erupted as a brochure of the company that was distributed at the event   showed a map with Arunachal Pradesh as part of China and Jammu and Kashmir as a part of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, media reports said.

Meanwhile,  Gautam Bambawale, Ministry of external affairs joint secretary, who was present at the venue remarked that he had drew Zhang Yan's  attention on the map and Yan had accepted the mistake, media reports said.

India and China are engaged in border related dispute for quite some time now with China claiming Arunachal Pradesh to be a part of their land. The issue is a part of the boundary related talks between the two neighboring nations.
