Parno Mittra learns the guitar for Anjan Dutta

November 30, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / Pen Men at Work): Bengali television actress Parno Mittra is very excited these days. Not only is she a part of her favorite director Anjan Dutta’s next directorial venture ‘Ranjana Ami Aar Aashbona’, the soon to be released film is also giving her an opportunity to learn the guitar. Parno Mittra has been roped in to play the lead character of Ranjana in the upcoming Anjana Dutta production and hence it goes without saying that her’s is one of the most challenging roles in the film.

Speaking to the media from the historic Lahabari located in Amherst Street of Kolkata, Parno Mittra says that though ‘Ranjana Ami Aar Aashbona’ is her first brush with the musical instrument guitar, she is learning fast and now can also strum out a song or two on Anjan Dutta’s request! Parno Mittra had on an earlier occasion made it known to the media that she was very excited to be a part of an Anjan Dutta film, the director too echoing her statements as he was all praises for the dusky beauty as his leading lady Ranjana.

The film is currently in the stages of filming and will hit screens next year. Some of the cast members including Parno Mittra, Anjan Dutta and Nondon Bagchi have been shooting inside the Lahabari for more than two weeks now. Parno Mittra says that Anjan Dutta, being the perfectionist that he is, likes elaborate rehearsals before shooting the final take. But it is not all work and no fun for the crew. The actress on her part is having a lot of fun on the sets of ‘Ranjana Ami Aar Aashbona’.
