Bengali Poetry Recitation | Bangla Kobita Abritti by Debalina Das

Debalina started her recitation career at the age of 2 & a halfDebalina Das winning her first “First prize”. After that she has won numerous awards and honours in recitation through out her carrier.  Her recitation training was started at “Gitanjali”, a cultural training school, directed by Smt. Minakshi Das (who also is her mom) with more than 100 students. Smt Das always has been her recitation teacher and inspiration. Debalina has completed her 5th year in recitation with distinction.

Debalina has participated in various cultural programs, anchored stage shows and performances. She used to perform for “Zee Bangla” as an anchor and was engaged in writing scripts and becoming the presenter of shows on a regular basis.
Debalina has won state level recitation competition organized by “Yuba Parisad” of West Bengal Government. She also has performed in several dramas (like Nandini in “Rakto Karabi”).

Debalina believes that there should be a distinct difference between recitation and “Shruti natak” which people tend to forget often now. Her favorite artists are Soumitra Chattopadhyay and Sambhu Mitra.

Debalina is currently pursuing her PhD in Environmental Health Science from University of Illinois in Chicago. Her hometown is Tamluk, East Midnapore and she is presently living in Chicago. She can be contacted at
