Hindu goddesses Mahakali and Mahalakshmi were invoked for world peace in a special overnight sacred ceremony held in Silver City in Nevada (USA).

Swami Sri Atmananda; founder of Divine Mission, Satya Chetana International, and University of Spiritual Research based in Tiruvannamalai (India); lead the invocation ceremony, who pointed out that this rare invocation would help neutralize the dark forces. Performed according to Vedic traditions, it included continuous chanting of mantra, lighting of wick lamps, and offering of rice, grain, lentils, fruit, milk, vegetables, flowers, etc., to the goddesses. Some participants fasted for the ceremony.

Swami’s followers from California, Nevada, Minnesota, India, and Germany participated. Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed attended the closing section of the ceremony. One of the participants, Dr. David Mitchell, Associate Research Professor at Desert Research Institute in Nevada, described the sacred ritual as “wonderful”.

Swami Atmananda; who has followers in India, USA, Germany, United Kingdom, Belgium, etc.; is currently working on a project to interpret complete ancient Hindu scripture Vedas in English. Swami stresses: “Let us truly be collaborators with God, with the divine aspect of each one of us.”
