Sandip Ray's Hit List is a forthcoming Bengali film starring the athletic looking Tota Roy Chowdhury with a very interesting cast of Koel Mullick, Sudipta Chakraborty, Mithun Chakraborty, Shaheb Chatterjee, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Subhrajit Dutta, Dipankar De and Tinnu Anand. Even singer Babul Supriyo plays a role in this flick.

Hit list is the next commercial Bangla movie by Sandip Ray after Tintorettor Jishu. It is produced by Mou Roy Chowdhury and shot on locations in Kolkata and Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia.

Actor Dhritiman Chaterji played a lead role in the Satyajit Ray classic Pratidwandi, along with Dhritiman Chatterjee, Debraj Roy, Krishna Bose, Mamata Chatterjee, Kalyan Chowdhury, Indira Devi, Sovon Lahiri, Pisu Majumdar and Dhara Roy. His portrayal of a crisp intelligent Bengali young man in Pratidwandi is vividly remembered by all. The movie is titled The Adversary or Siddharta and the City in English, and a DVD edition has been released in 2006.

Tota Roychowdhury hails from a family of Jewellers. His family own the famous M P Jewellers chain of stores in Kolkata, who now have stores in at least three locations: Kankurgachi, Dhakuria and Gariahat. According to the buzz, Tota Roy Chowdhury is a trained Diamond cutter, having received dedicated training in Hong Kong. Tota has an impressive career as a Television actor as well.

Shaheb Chattopadhyay - whose formal name is Shubhraneel Chattopadhyay - is an accomplished Rabindra Sangeet singer in addition to being a popular Bengali film actor.

Saswata Chatterjee is one of the two sons of veteran actor Shubhendu Chattopadhyay. Saswata's brother has a degree from the University of Berkeley, Riverside, California campus.

Hitlist s based on a story written by Sandip Ray himself, who is acclaimed for cinematographic adaptations of his father Satyajit Ray's "Feluda" series of crime-mystery stories. According to reports, Tota Roychowdhury plays the CEO of an advertising agency which hires regular housewife Koel Mullick for a unique job involving Koel to be fashion model temporarily.

Sandip Ray debuted in film-making with Fatikchand, with Satyajit Ray assisting him with script and music direction. Sandip Ray has come a long way, and Hitlist is his 8th movie. Sandip Ray has said that Hitlist is based on what he remembers from a psychological thriller he had read as an young adult many moons ago.

Hit-list is expected to hit theaters this winter (2009).
