Kolkata, October 25, 2015 (Washington Bangla Radio): The music of Ranadeep Sarkar’s directorial debut ‘Not a dirty film’ which released recently in  a gala celebration in the presence of  the cast and crew of the film, is topping the music charts of FM stations and Music channels of Kolkata this festive season.

The thriller which is based on the growing flesh trade under the cover of massage parlours has only four songs in it but it seems that the album will  not fail to add one of the most cherished feathers in the cap of  Dev Sen, the music director of the film.

The title track which has been sung  by Sourick Banerjee, Vickey A Khan and Gopika Goswami is a fast paced foot tapping number. It is in the same genre of hit songs like ‘Khoka babu jai’ or more recently ‘Magic Mamoni’ which were the  top choices to be played in almost every party of the town. The title of the film bears English words and keeping in sync with it , the lyricist Adhayan has intellegiently thrown in some sensuous English lines among fast paced Bengali sentences.  The music of the song is highly dominated by percussion key pad and drums.

The next song in the album is ‘Tuhi Meri Zindagi’ which has the voice of the music director himself along with Vickey A Khan. After the use of Bengali and English in the title track of the movie, this song  gives the audience a  flavour of Hindi  in its opening line.  This is a passionate romantic number and like most of the other romantic songs,  has the ample use of guitar alongwith  a beautiful mix of drums, hat tambourine, keyboard and cymbal. It’s  soothing  to the ears . This track  proves that  a  romantic song   is  not only  about extensive use of guitars just because romantic heroes are often portrayed to be carrying one.

The song ‘Aaj shomoy oshomoy’ has the voice of  Timir Biswas. One cannot miss the artistry  of  Raja Chowdhury ‘s  guitar with which the song begins. Penned by Sujjoy  this one is a slow sad number  but not extremely melancholic.

The last number ‘Make your Night’ is an out and out party song. Sung  by Dia Roy Chowdhury and Gopika Goswami, this seductive yet peppy number again has explored three languages, i.e. Hindi English and Bengali. The lines : “ Make your wanna touch me..Make our night You wanna kill me “ are sure to shake many legs and one who does not know  about the film needs to be told that the song is from a Bengali film. Lyricist Adhyan’s experiment on trilingual songs has really done wonder in this film and has provided something new to the audience. But in future he should not get predictable about such use.
