Kolkata, October 19, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio / Penning Creations) Challenge 2, is the latest talk of the town that stars Dev (interview) and Puja Bose (interview). This action film of Dev directed by Raja Chanda (WBRi Interview) was premiered in Menoka Cinema Hall in Kolkata in the presence of all the star cast and crew members of the film. It is produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and presented by Srikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni.
The story starts with introducing Devraj Roy, father of Abhiraj, as a god like character who serves the society and has done nothing wrong in his life. He wants his son to follow the same path and choose a career in politics. But very soon he went into coma after meeting a fatal accident that was planned by his opposition. The film presents Dev in the role of Super cop, Abhiraj Roy in Mumbai who is on a mission to catch a mafia don (Ashish Vidyarthi). He aims to remove all kinds of evil out from the society and wants to take revenge of the wrongs (accident) that have been done to his father.
The whole story majorly revolves around Dev and shows him as an action packed cop who. During the operation of his undercover mission he meets with a fashion designer (Puja Bose) and falls in love with her. The film presents a lot of critical situations and some good action sequences that makes it a must watch for all action lovers.
Along with Dev and Puja, Kharaj Mukherjee, Biswanath Basu, Joyjit Banerjee and Raj Chakraborty, Ashish Vidyarthi and Tapas Pal are also in the film, essaying important characters.
Donning the role of an inspector, Dev is again back with his macho man appearance and character. He is able to impress his audience with fighting scenes, dialogs and of course his charming smile. This young and dashing talent has a wide base of fan following among the masses.
Directed by Raja Chanda, this film will see the new actress, Puja Bose opposite the heart throb of many girls, Dev. Puja, comparatively a new star in the film industry has shown good skills of acting and her paring with Dev is liked by many. She has proved her talent but still there are chances to make her performance good and much better. Some workshops and training may probably help her to improve and come with a fatafati performance next time.
All other actors have done great works and has performed very well doing justice to their role. Kharaj Mukherjee needs a special mention for his wonderful performance. Tapas Pal doing the role of Dev’s father was able to fulfill the requirement of essaying the character. Ashish Vidyarthi, after playing negative characters in Hindi films is now the villain of almost all Bengali film.
Jeet Ganguly has composed the music for this out and out action film. The songs like Pyar ka Bukhar and Challenge Nibi Na Sala has already become a great hit among the audience and other tracks are also loved by many. The film though categorized as an action film still has some good drama and romance that keeps the crowd glued to their seats.
Baba Yadav has wonderfully choreographed the dance sequences and has given some good signature steps to the hero. The cinematography and editing has to be appreciated for it helps to add some extra flavor in the film. Although it has so many good things to look out for but the film, disappoints the audience with some glitches that cannot be ignored.
Instead of this, the film will make a good profit at the box office and will attract a large number of audiences towards it. Claps and whistles is surely going to echo in the theatre during the songs and action sequences.
