Kolkata, October 10, 2012 (Washington Bangla Radio / Penning Creations) Lost in the preparations of the most celebrated Bengali Festival - Durga Puja, Kolkatans experienced an exotic music launch attended by many well known celebrities. The music of Rituparna Sengupta’s upcoming film “Tan” was launched at City Centre on 6th October in the presence of many celebrated personalities of the Bengali Film Industry in the midst of common people.

“Taan” is a story that concentrates on the lives of women living in the Sunderbans. This story is based on the lives Jolbeshyas as written by Al Mahmud, a Bangladeshi writer. This plot promises to be very unique and presents the lives of people living in the border lands of India, Bangladesh and Burma.
The actors of the film Rituparna Sengupta, Debleena Dutta, Sumanto Chattopadhyay, Pamela, and the singers Anwesha and Ujjaini Mukherjee and other cast and crew members of the film graced the occasion with their presence. Directed by Mukul Roy Chaudhuri the production of Surajit Hari and Subrata Das of the Fab Four Films presents the beauty of the Sunderbans and promises to impress the audience with its soulful music.
The film's soundtrack OST contains seven Bengali audio songs, the music of which are composed by the celebrated Music Director, Indradeep Dasgupta. Lyrics are penned by Srijato and Jewel Mahmood. Singers Lopamudra Mitra, June Banerjee, Anwesha, Mohon Kannan, Zubin Garg, Sumana Chakraborty and Indradeep Dasgupta himself have lent their voice to the different songs and compositions in the film.

Music Director Indradeep Das Gupta said composing for this film has been a totally different experience for him compared to all other works of his so far. The film has an array of songs starting from folk numbers and love ballads to gypsy songs.

Actress Rituparna Sengupta said she is very happy to be associated with such an exceptional project, and the music of the movie has a rustic feel that will touch hearts with soulful composition.
Actress Debolina Dutta said this movie is very unique and different from others and has all kinds of audio songs that will allow the audience to connect with the film and with the lives of the people of Sunderban. Viewers will see her in a totally different avatar as she will be grooving to an item number that will raise the glamor quotient of the film.
Actress Pamela echoed similar sentiments and said it has been a pleasure to work with all her co stars, especially with Rituparna Sengupta.
The music release saw singers Anwesha and Ujjaini perform live for the audience. Shireen (who is also essaying a role in the film) and RJ Rio emceed the evening, entertaining the audience with some interesting questions and a sense of humor.
