Calcutta, October 15, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) After ‘Laboratory’ (based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore) which was a strong portrayal of womanhood, Raja Sen’s (interview) current film ‘Moubane Aj’ is a complete family entertainer after ‘Teen Murti’.
It is a simple story about Mainak, a shy guy who keeps away from his father and is a failure in all aspects. Satish, his father, tries to fix a bride for him in the form of Payel, his college mate, but on the day of his marriage he is nowhere to be found! What happens then?
Raja Sen has tried to portray the film as a perfect family comedy keeping all the elements which are required to make a successful family film. The film stars Rahul, Priyanka, Rachana Banerjee (interview), Ranjit Mullick, Deepankar Dey, Kaushik Sen, Biplab Chatterjee, Papiya Sen and others.
Moubone Aaj has been produced by Sailesh Ranjan Chowdhury, Monidipa Chowdhury and Pooja Bose. The editor is Arghyakamal Mitra and the cinematographer is Rana Dasgupta.
The music directors are Partha Sengupta and Ramji while Samaresh Majumdar and Partha Sengupta are the lyricists.
Incidentally the film is based on a story by renowned author Samaresh Majumdar.
A press meet cum music launch of the film was held at Food Station on Thursday in presence of the cast and crew. The soundtrack of the film has three songs which have been sung by Monomoy and others.
