The Judges of Calcutta Durga Puja IIDR Sarood Samman 2010 Awards

CALCUTTA, Oct 11, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) This year IIDR is trying to create awareness among Puja Committees regarding Safety and Security aspects of Pandal hoppers(proper fire fighting arrangements, First Aid Arrangements, Drinking water facilities, special arrangements for physically challenged, proper passage etc.)more investment of time and resources for social service and environment protection.

While visiting the contestant pujas judges will ask and interact with organizers about these issues.
Winning Puja committees will be selected based on these issues.

The esteemed judges of this year's Durga Puja Awards that will be given to the Puja Committees of the top four Durga Pujas in Calcutta and suburbs are:

Madhuchhanda Deb

Councilor , KMC Ward No.92

Twice elected as councilor KMC Ward No.92, has vast experience about community development. She worked as a social worker in number of NGOs before elected as councilor. Won awards for service to the residents of KMC Ward No.92

Rinku Naskar

Councilor , KMC Ward No.102

One of the youngest Councilor elected. Has long experience of working with Community based organization and leads number of social service institutions.

Malabi Chowdhury

Manipuri Classical Dancer

Young and bright Manipuri Classical Dancer and dance teacher. Performed number of dance programs at various places with in India and aboard. She is teaching children dance and performing arts at Children Little Theatre. She keeps close contacts with number of NGOs and provides voluntary service with in her busy schedule.

Madhu Sharma

President Rajasthani Mahila Samity

Leads one of the well known NGO of West Bengal. Dedicated voluntary service provided by her is a model for others. Very popular among social circle of Bengal.
