Phillipines all breed championship dog show

Phillipines, Oct 06, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / PRLog) - Philippine Canine Club Inc. (PCCI), the sole authority for registering purebred dogs, is set for their back-to-back All Breed Championship dog shows this October 16 and 17, at the PCCI activity center, Marikina City.

“Registered breeds of PCCI, Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) member-clubs, American Kennel Club (AKC), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), and Kennel Club of UK are allowed to join in these events,” says Augusto Benedicto Santos III, President of PCCI.

These events aim to increase the awareness on different dog breeds and to promote and encourage the love for purebred dogs. The judges for these events are world revered Dr. Andi Hiduno from Indonesia, and Natalja Nekroseine from Luthuania.

“For all our dog shows, the invited judges underwent a careful selection process by the Show Committee,” said Santos.

Judges in PCCI and PCCI Affiliated Clubs’ Championship Dog Shows are licensed to judge by their respective clubs that are affiliated with the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) or licensed by the American Kennel Club (AKC), Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) and the Kennel Club of UK.

“By joining in these events, our dog lovers are rest assured that their purebred dogs are being evaluated/examined by licensed and experienced judges who are willing to share their expertise in the field,” adds Santos.

PCCI is a nonstock, nonprofit, service-oriented organization founded in 1963. It is the country’s only registering body for pedigreed dogs recognized internationally and is the only Philippine organization that is full member of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI) based in Belgium and the Asia Kennel Union based in Tokyo, Japan. PCCI is also the sole body with reciprocal agreements with the AKC, CKC, and the Kennel Club of UK.

One of PCCI’s primary functions is to authorize dog events that promote the interest in and sustain the process of breeding quality dogs that correspond with the standards created for each breed.
