Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Afflicting Indian IT Workers - Bad Posture blamed

CALCUTTA, Oct 6, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) There has been a steep increase among Indian workers, especially in the field of IT and related labor industries, of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).

RSI is observed to occur mostly in people who have unhealthy postures and exercise a certain set of muscles of the body disproportionately more than others - often as a direct result of their job finction.

In the case of IT workers, long hours at the laptop keyboard are of concern.

IBNLive have produced an excellent video telling the story of a student, a radio host (called Radio Jockey or RJ in India) and a IT worker. The RJ took up a job in IT, and had such a bitter experience with RSI that he came back to being a RJ - a job which he loved anyway.
