Mou Sanyal TalukdarCALCUTTA, Oct 3, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Mou Sanyal started to learn music at an early age from  her elder sister Anindita (Sanyal) Basu. After that she received musical training in Rabindra Sangeet at Dakskhini . She was trained by Arati Bagchi in classical music at Saurav.

While post graduating with Philosophy from Jadavpur University Mou took training in Agra-gharana of music from Ustad Naseem Ahmed Khan . Later,  she also enriched her musical training from Smt Uma Dey and Pandit Shrikant Bakre. Having interest in varied music Mou learnt Nazrul Geeti from Biman mukhopadhayay, devotional songs and Adhunik from Sri Dhiren Das and Meena Choudhury and again took her training from Maya Sen in Rabindra Sangeet. She also participated in various Workshops organized by Rajya Sangeet Academy and got in touch with Anal Chottopadhayay and Abhijit Bandyopadhayay.

On completion of her M.A. and B.Ed from Calcutta University Mou worked for Radio Network FM as a Presenter in popular programmes  like  ‘Lakme Maximum Skin Care’ , ‘Ruper Dali’, ‘Majlish’ etc .

Mou was Host in the TV Serial “Uru-Katu-Madna” and in TV Serial “Monoronjon”.

Mou was invited as a singer to the North American Bengali Conference (NABC) "Bangla Sammelan" in 1999 in California , U.S.A .

Mou’s debut in the world of cassettes & cd’s  has been in “Satyakam”, a cassette released by Sagarika. It contain songs by Asha Bhonsley, Ajoy Chakraborty, Kavita Krishnamurty and a solo song sung by Mou ‘Amar Jibone Shraboner Dine’. ‘Tara Jhilmil’, a solo album of Adhunik songs was  released in 1999 by Super Voice Music Cassettes/CDs . A solo album 'Ektuku Chowa Lage' on Rabindra Sangeet in 2007 by Raga Music , and in‘Kajla Meye’ - the song 'Tumi Ashbe Bole' by Genesis Records in 2009.
