Mumbai, May 31, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / PRLog) The album has seven scintillating tracks including peppy dance nos. with fantastic lyrics. The song compilation is mostly Punjabi with a rustic touch but there is a fabulous English song too.  Biba has unveiled two videos to showcase the album and the third one will be launched soon.  The songs are already available on the leading social media and digital platforms and caller tunes are becoming a big hit.

Talking about her new album, Biba Singh says, “My new album Biba For You has racy peppy tracks targeted at the youngsters of today. However, I have tried to bring in traditional Punjabi tunes while interspersing them with pop and rock melodies preferred by the youth today. I am sure that the two videos will accentuate the lyrics and the beat. Watch out for my third video, which will be unveiled soon.”

Kolkata, May 31 (Washington Bangla Radio / IBNS): Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, singer Sounak Chattopadhyay (interview) here on Monday released his album on Rabinsangeet (Rabindranath Tagore's songs) with the recitations of veteran actor and elocutionist Soumitra Chattopadhayay enriching the work.

Titled  'Notun Praan' (New Life), Sounak claims he has presented Rabindrasangeet in his own way without distorting the real essence of the original creations.

The album's another attraction is recitations performed by Soumitra Chattopadhyay and actress Chaiti Ghoshal.

"It was an exceptionally great experience to work with Soumitra Chattopadyay, his presence was important and significant," Sounak said. "It was a challenge to create something new and at the same time not to deform Rabindra sangeet. The theme of this album was newness."

Actress Chaiti Ghoshal said: "I liked the ideas as Sounak has showcased in this album and above all it was a dream to be associated with Soumita Chattopadhyay in this album."

Poets Arun Chakrabarty & Tapan Sanyal Release "Gan Kobitar Collage" Album in Kolkata

Arun Kumar Chakraborty (interview), the renowned Bengali Baul, folk singer, songwriter and poet best known for his brilliant "Tu Lal Paharir Deshe Ja" song, and Tapan Sanyal (feature), together released an audio album titled Gan Kobitar Collage (a collage of song and poetry) in Kolkata recently.

Calcutta, April 16, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) 'Sesher Kabita', a novel by Rabindranath Tagore which is considered a landmark in Bengali literature was written in 1928 and has been translated in English as ‘The Last Poem’.

It is about the protagonist Ambit Ray, a barrister and is his love story. Sesher Kabita which is highly acclaimed has now been made into a musical drama which has already been staged at a couple of places in Kolkata and has now been released as a musical drama on audio.
