Audio: Chaitali Dasgupta Marks Baishe Srabon with "Amar Jabar Belate" Recitation and Songs Bengali CD Release

Kolkata, Aug 5, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Perhaps no other poet celebrated life in his works as much as Rabindranath Tagore. Yet throughout his long life the poet was constantly hounded by a series of bereavements at regular intervals. He endured the deaths of Notun Bouthan Kadambari Debi, his wife Mrinalini Devi, his daughter Madhabilata and son Soumendranath.

Amar Jabar Belaye

With his genius he transformed his personal grief into unique aesthetic creations. In a way, his life was a long tale of a brave struggle of a spiritual man trying to grapple with the problem of morality.

He has defined death by not accepting it as the final, futile end, but as an inseparable part of the cycle of life. Death has been depicted by him as the ultimate beloved, a friend.

MIRA RE: Arko & Dev from Kolkata and Their Remarkable Album "MIRA" - Music Review & MP3 Download

Arko & DevMumbai, July 27, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Kolkata-born and brought up musicians Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Bishwadev "Dev" Bhaumik, now based in Mumbai, have recently released their debut music album "Mira" under the label of Silk Road Communications (of Thane, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India) featuring thirteen remarkably soothing and mellow songs - a sumptuously delicate treat for our ears overloaded with jarring rock wannabes and uninspiring remixes emanating from across Tollywood and Bollywood these days. The title track "Mira Re" is outstanding in it's intentionally subdued approach that serves to highlight the lyrics, melody and rhythm of the song which changes fluidly and takes a different shape with grace as it progresses. Those of us who are addicted to Junoon are very likely to happily put Arko & Dev's "Mira" on the playlists of our personal MP3 players.

"Arko & Dev", as the duo call themselves, have been working as songwriters with Deep Emotions Publishing (a joint-venture with Universal Music Publishing Group) of Mumbai for a few years now. "Mira" has recently been released across West Bengal, and a pan-India release is scheduled in a matter of days. Watch out for a series of live-performance and music videos featuring the title track "Mira Re" followed by "Oye Rabba" (a musical take on India-Pakistan rivalry) and "Wo Ho Tum".
