The album features, for the first time, Western classical Chamber Orchestra Style Music Arrangement in an entire Rabindra-Sangeet album. That too, without using any Acoustic Instruments - totally computer programmed by Nilanjann Nandy himself (all the instruments).
The husband and wife pair of Aditya and Ashidhara Das are well known
singers from the San Francisco Bay area in northern California. Aditya
is currently a Pharmaceutical Consultant (Ph.D. Chemical
Engineering and MBA (Strategy)) in the San Francisco Bay Area and
Ashidhara is a Ph.D. in Anthropology and teaches at Ashford University
(in an online Program designed for Undergraduates). Their sons Anirban
(11) and Ayan (8) both learn Hindustani Classical Vocal from Shubhangi
Sakhalkar in the Bay Area.
Among numerous acclaimed performances as talented vocalists, Aditya and Ashidhara are particularly proud of performing with the great Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka during a performance of Saare Jahan Se Accha (music composed in Raga Pilu by Guruji and sung by them during the madhyalaya gat) to celebrate India's 50th Independence Anniversary at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. Their fondest memory is certainly the call they received from Guruji 4 days before the performance, inviting them to sing on stage with him.
