Calcutta,
September 23, 2011 (Databazaar Media Ventures) Swastika Mukherjee began
her career when she was very young. But her film career did not take
off at the time so she concentrated on telefilms, working in some really
good and memorable ones. But big screen ventures remained confined to
small budget films or films that were not marketed properly. She is very
optimistic about her role in Anik Dutta’s Bhooter Bhabishyat. This film
has already been acquired by Databazaar Media Ventures for
distribution, streaming, telecasting and so on in North America and
Canada.
What role are you playing in Bhooter Bhabishyat?
Bhooter
Bhabishyat is a delightful, tongue-in-cheek film about ghosts of
different kinds who gather in a haunted house. I am a ghost and it is my
house in which the ghosts gather to live together. My character, when
alive, was a famous film star from the Black-and-White era. But the
character did not want to act in films or become a star. She wanted to
get married but her father forced her to get into films. So, she commits
suicide and her ghost keeps haunting the house she lived in. Samadarshi
is one of the ghosts I am expected to be involved with.
Other than being a ghost, what other elements are there in the character?
