Karan Johar is going to produce a modern remake of Agneepath, the 1990 blockbuster Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakrabarty, Madhavi, Neelam, Danny Denzongpa superhit Hindi Bollywood movie.

The role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan was initially offered to Hrithik Roshan, who declined, citing unwillingness to step into the shoes of Big B and engagement with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. Abhishek Bachchan will instead play the role his father played in the original.

Shooting is scheduled to start in early 2010.

Inspired by the Hollywood movie "The Prestige" (2006) directed by Christopher Nolan (director of "The Dark Knight"), Bollywood Hindi Film "GUZARISH" will have Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai as the lead pair in the cast. Shooting will start in early 2010 since Hrithik is currently busy with "Kites". The film is about one-upmanship between two Magicians.

GUZAARISH will be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director of the Hindi blockbuster "Jodha Akbar" with the same Hrithik-Aishwarya pair in the lead cast.
