Purbayan Chatterjee is a highly acclaimed world-class contemporary North Indian Classical Instrumental Sitar player and founder of the modern Indian Classical band Shastriya Syndicate with Veenai Jayanthi (Veena), Subhankar Banerjee (Tabla), Rakesh Chaurasia (Bamboo Flute), Murad Ali (Sarangi), Pramath Kiran (Percussion) and Satish Patri (Mridangam). Subhomoy Mukherjee of WBRi talks to Purbayan in an informal and intimate interview.

Mar 22, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Swayamvara (2010) is an Indian Kannada language romance-comedy film directed by Anantha Raju  starring Sharmila Mandre, Srinagara Kitty, Diganth, Tara, Om Prakash Rao,Rangayana Raghu, Raemsh Bhatt and others. Music is by Manikanth Kadri.

Dignath and Srinagara Kitty fall for the same girl in the film (Sharmila Mandre), resulting in rivalry and humorous situations.

Anant Raju's 2010 films are Swayamvara, Manasina Maathu, Sugreeva, Matte Mast Maja Madi and Appu & Pappu. His prior successes are Jaaji Mallige, Nanda and Mast Maja Maadi.

Sharmila Mandre debuted with Dhyan in Sajni (2007) and has been a successful Kannada actress.

Feb 18, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Produced by Ramesh Sippy, Dum Maaro Dum directed by Rohan Sippy stars Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu as the lead pair with Deepika Padukone, Aditya Pancholi,  Pratiek Babbar, Rana Daggubati and others in the cast.

The release date of Dum Maaro Dum  is April 22, 2011. The film is set in Goa.

Mar 22, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) After Achin Pakhi starring Subrat Dutt-Manali Dey, the next Bengali cinema by acclaimed parallel / art-house film-maker Anjan Das is BEDENI (2010) starring Rituparna Sengupta and Indraneil Sengupta in lead roles.

Bedeni also stars Rajesh Sharma who has appeared in successful films like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Parineeta, Swapner Din, Shubho Mahurat, Desh, Paromitar Ek Din, Maachis and the recent blockbuster ISHQIYA (2010) [DVD].

The title of Anjan Das' 2010 Bengali film is the same as the 1951 Nirmal Dey classic. There is also Swapan Saha's Bedenir Prem (1992) [DVD] starring Chiranjeet, Anju Ghosh, Lily Chakravarty, Nimu Bhowmick, Shakuntala Barua with music by Abu Taher.
