LCD HDTV Review: Sharp and Crisp VIZIO XVT473SV 47-inch Class Full Array TruLED 240 Hz SPS with VIZIO Internet Apps

[Front View: VIZIO's XVT473SV 47" TruLEDTM LCD HDTV with VIZIO Internet Apps]Dec 24, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) We have been looking for a new TV for quite some time, thinking we would go with a 47" LCD. But then we happened to see some of the new LED TV's which took us on a whole new quest. And this is where we ended up. With the Vizio xvt473sv. The picture is just fabulous. I can't begin to stress that. We are not young folks by any stretch of the imagination. 3D didn't interest us. (It's fun at the theater but I don't want to watch it at home.) But this TV has true LED, with true back-lighting (not just edge lighting) and it's beyond terrific for viewing.

The pictures are sharp and crisp. Like when you're at the eye doctor and he says, "Which is better, A or B?" And B jumps out at you because it is like the best you've ever seen? Well folks, that's this television. Not kidding.

Horticulture - A Key to All Round Growth of Agriculture in India

New Delhi, Dec 15, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / PIB-India) Horticulture is perhaps the most profitable venture of all farming activities as it provides ample employment opportunities and scope to raise the income of the farming community. It also has tremendous potential to push the overall agriculture growth to more than the targetted 4 per cent.

The climatic conditions prevailing in our country are favourable for a large number of horticulture crops such as fruits, vegetables, roots and tuber crops, ornamental, medicinal and aromatic plants. Production of horticultural crops has witnessed a significant improvement over the years, of the 11 per cent of the total cropped area, horticulture accounts for about 28 per cent of agriculture GDP in India.

India ranks second in the global production of fruits and vegetables next to China. It’s share in the World fruit and vegetable production is about 9.2 per cent and 9.24 per cent respectively. India is the largest producer of mango, banana, sapota and acid lime and has the highest productivity of grapes per unit area in the World. Despite this, India’s share in fruits and vegetables trade in the World is very low.

The Government has taken many initiatives to boost horticulture sector in the country. These include National Horticulture Mission (NHM), National Horticulture Board, Technology Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture in North-East and Himalayan States and financial assistance to private sector and Government agencies to set up post-harvest infrastructure such as warehouses and cold storages etc.

METAMORPHOSIS 360° Immersive Film Wins Hollywood Award

Los Angeles, CA, December 10, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / PRWEB) Digital Elite Inc. Los Angeles in partnership with researchers at the Technical University of Budapest in Hungary have developed a fully interactive Panoramic Broadcasting technology, called PanoCAST, for producing 360° Immersive Films for parallel cinematic and on-line experiences. Using this technology they have produced an experimental short film, an authentic adaptation of THE METAMORPHOSIS, a film that has now won the Best Short Film Award at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival.

"You have not ever seen a movie like this before. A retelling of Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis, where director Sandor Kardos has succeed more then one could ever expect in faithfully giving us the world from Gregor's new perspective. Using innovative interactive panoramic technology that employs telepresence and virtual reality, shot with multiple cameras to give the viewer the experience of being in the head of the character. Add to that the psychedelic elements of seeing the world through the eyes of a giant insect, and you have a truly unique film experience," says the review on the festival's website.

A R Rahman Composes Jingle for Airtel 3G Phone Service To Be Launched In India

Calcutta, Nov 28, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Internationally renowned Indian cinema music composer A R Rahman has composed the jingle of the latest video ad for Airtel 3G service in India being launched by the end of this year.

The ad features a street-dancer on a walkway very much like any city in the industrialized world dancing to a foot-tapping ad song, and a smart phone device at the end. The references in the ad to "Hamari Duniya" (i.e. "our world") is a bit disconnected from the context of an Indian ad for a service in India.

The Chairman and managing director of Bharti Airtel at a press conference said, “We will price our 3G services in a way so as to balance it to the investments that we have made in acquiring the spectrum and building infrastructure. Tariffs will be affordable.”

He also added that the prices of the auctions were high, yet they will be able to give affordable tariffs. Earlier in August, the Chief Executive officer for the South Asia regions of Bharti Airtel, Mr Sanjay Kapoor said that the 3G costs may be higher due to the expensive bids.
