New Delhi, Nov 8, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) US First Lady Michelle Obama purchased wooden Lord Ganesh, a Hanuman, and Patachitra and Madhubani paintings (which usually depict Hindu religious themes), etc., during her visit to New Delhi’s Crafts Museum on November eight, according to reports.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, commended Michelle Obama’s, 46, reported interest in Hindu artifacts and added that if she wanted to explore Hinduism further, he or other Hindu scholars would be glad to assist.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a release in Nevada (USA) today, welcoming US President Barack Obama’s Diwali statement, urged him to push for a Diwali stamp by United States Postal Service and adding Diwali to the holiday calendar of public schools nationwide. Diwali stamp was long overdue and it was important for Hindu families to celebrate Diwali day together at home with their children.


Pennsylvania Catholic University Organizing Hindu Arts Exhibition

Nevada, USA, Nov 3, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Hindus have applauded Misericordia University of Pennsylvania (USA), a Roman Catholic institution, for organizing a Hindu art exhibition.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that religion was a most powerful and complex part of human life and thanked Misericordia for showing that religion comprised of much more than one’s personal experience or belief, and that more inclusive understanding of religion was needed.

To be held from November 12 to December 18, this exhibition is titled “The Hindu Collection” and will be shown in its MacDonald Gallery.
