Suzanne Collins joined the club of J.K Rowling (Harry Potter) and Stephenie Meyer (The Twilight Saga) when her first novel for the young adults, The Hunger Games hit the shelves.

The novel is set in Panem, a nation that grew out of the ashes of North America, and run by the Capitol. In order to exercise total control, the Capitol selects one male and one female from each of the twelve outlying districts to compete in the annual Hunger Games—a fight to the death between twenty four tributes from ages twelve to eighteen. Sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen is chosen for the games along with Peeta Mellark. Together, they will create an unprecedented game and create a spark to change the course of history and maybe something more. A USA Today and New York Times bestseller, 9.6 million copies of the book was already being read in the United States when Lionsgate decided about the movie adaptation.

The occasion took place at iLead management institute’s campus which played host to a few well-known guests including Mr. Harsh Neotia (one of the city’s top entrepreneurs and the Chairman of Ambuja Realty), Mr. Raghavendra Singh (IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, West Bengal) and some members of the Sheherwali Community.
