Kolaveri Di versions grab 5 out of 10 top mobile video spots in India in December, thanks mostly to Nevaan Nigam

New Delhi, India, January 20, 2012: Vuclip, the world’s largest independent mobile video service, today released its Global Video Insights Report for January 2012, which captures mobile trends for last month and looks back at some of the biggest searches of 2011.

After being the most searched celebrity on mobile videos in 2010, the country’s heartthrob Katrina Kaif retained her title of being the most searched in India in 2011 too. In a stunning revelation, Sonakshi Sinha emerged as a new find on mobile videos in 2011 to grab the second spot, despite not even ranking in the list of the top 10 searches for 2010. Jacqueline Fernandes, Kareena Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai were the other celebrities that made it to the top 10 most searched in 2011, despite not figuring in the list in 2010. Among other gainers, Deepika Padukone climbed to the #5 spot in 2011 as against ranking #7 in 2010. Outside India, Deepika ruled mobile video searches in Singapore, emerging as December’s most searched celebrity on mobiles, ahead of Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez.

Among the major losers, Mallika Sherawat, who was at #2 in 2010, slipped to #7 in 2011’s most searched celebs in India on mobile. Sania Mirza, Rakhi Sawant and Priyanka Chopra, who ranked at #3, #4 and #9 respectively in 2010, did not find a place among the top 10 rankings for 2011.

Among the most watched Indian videos, it was clearly cinema that ruled supreme, with the top three video themes turning out to be movie-related clips. Mobile videos relating to Vidya Balan’s The Dirty Picture were the most watched, with over 13 lakh 24 thousand views on mobiles. Shahrukh Khan starrer Ra.One, with more than 8 lakh video views, emerged as the runner-up this year in terms of most-watched Indian videos relating to the sci-fi movie, which had more than double the mobile video views than any content relating to the much hyped Kolaveri Di song from the upcoming Tamil movie ‘3’. Interestingly, even for all videos relating to Kolaveri Di, what found more mobile video interest was Kiddy Kolaveri: Sonu Niigaam's son sings Milk-u, with over 2 lakh 86 thousand mobile video views, compared to the original Tam-English song, which was viewed just over 56,000 times by Indian mobile audiences!

This year, some of the hot new properties in Indian entertainment also battled it out for the top spot, though the competition was short-lived as model Poonam Pandey emerged as the clear leader with over 1 lakh mobile video views, much ahead of Pakistan’s model and actress Veena Malik, who was in news over her controversial nude picture on a magazine’s cover, securing only 18,697 mobile video views. Even out of these, a larger chunk was on a public message against Veena Malik. Porn star Sunny Leone’s entry into Bigg Boss 5 saw a relatively cold response from Indian users with just under 2,500 mobile video views.

Vuclip Announces Mobile Video Trends for September in Monthly Global Video Insights Report

Mumbai, India, October 14, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif has become the world’s most searched celebrity in mobile videos, ahead of Britney Spears who ranked second, according to the findings of latest Global Video Insights Report for September, released by Vuclip, the world's largest independent mobile video service.

The top ten celebrities globally also included India’s Kareena Kapoor (Global Rank: #4) and Sonakshi Sinha (Global Rank: #6), alongside international stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Beyonce and Shakira, according to the press release.

Back home, Sachin Tendulkar emerged as the most searched male celebrity in mobile videos in India. Among the most watched clips in India, topping the charts was Ajay Devgn’s joke on Kangana Ranaut’s bikini shoot for the movie Rascals; followed by Vidya Balan’s two gossip videos about The Dirty Picture. Washington, DC, September 10, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio) Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Thakur, Shri Barid Baran wrote "Rabindramoyee" which depicts the comparison of THREE very popular and well known female characters created by Rabindranath - SHYAMA, CHITRANGADA and PRAKRITI (in CHANDALIKA).

The similarity between these characters is that they wanted their loved ones desperately. But the dissimilarity lies in the ways they opted to pursue their loved ones and the final outcome of their love.

Shyama sacrificed the life of a young paramour of hers in order to save Bajrasen from death as she was infatuated with him and wanted him at any cost.

Chitrangada, the only child of the king and the one to inherit the throne, falls in love with Arjun, the third of the five Pandava Brothers in the Mahabharata. But after Arjun refused her as she was not an attractive woman. She changed her appearance by the boon of Kamdev in order to reach her goal.

Prakriti was shunned by everyone around her as she was born to a lower-caste untouchable family. Her life changed when Ananda, a buddhist monk asked for water from her and made her understand that she is as human as everyone in the world. Prakriti felt re-born as a human being and fell in love with him.

However, the outcome of their love was different also.

In spite of everything Shyama did to get her love, Bajrasen left her, when he came to know about the sacrifice of life in order to save him.

After changing her appearance Chitrangada did win herself Arjun, but Arjun being a warrior looked for Chitrangada, the warrior and she came back to her original form.

Prakriti wanted Ananda and even tried her mother's magic powers to obtain him. But at the end of the day he was a monk, a hermit - a saint who had no attraction for material matters.
