General Motors November 2010 Sales in India Grow By 17.67% at 8376 Units

New Delhi, Dec 14, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / prurgent) General Motors India has registered a growth of 17.67% in sales in November 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year. It sold 8376 units in November 2010 against 7118 units in November 2009.

The November 2010 sales comprised 2786 units of the Chevrolet Spark, 2547 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1476 units of the Chevrolet Tavera, 617 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 297 Units of Chevrolet Aveo, 291 units of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA, 262 units of Chevrolet Optra and 100 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.

Celebrating a historic achievement in its journey in the country, General Motors India crossed the 100,000 unit mark on November 27, 2010, registering a staggering growth of over 63% from January to November 2010, compared to the corresponding period last year.

The increase in the sales was primarily driven by the response to Chevrolet Cruze, Beat and Spark. Chevrolet Cruze and Beat have become the industry benchmarks in their respective segments and a winner among consumers in India, with their best-in-class design, performance and other product attributes. Chevrolet Spark, continuing with its impressive sales has won the top award for quality for the fourth consecutive year in the India Automotive Initial Quality Study announced by J.D Power Asia Pacific 2010 validating it as the one of the most sought after car in its segment in terms of quality, styling, performance and fuel efficiency offering a value for money proposition.


Pope’s interest in solar-powered electric “popemobile” lauded

Nevada, Dec 3, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio) Hindus have praised Vatican’s preference in having solar-powered electric popemobile, thus showing care for the planet and promotion of sustainable and green energy.

Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, besides the solar-powered electric popemobile idea, also commended His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI for putting photovoltaic cells on Vatican auditorium’s roof, installation of solar cooling unit for the cafeteria, frequent environment friendly moves and calls to save the planet and curb environmental degradation.


Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Voted Auto Zeitung Best Car of the Year

The car received the renowned "Auto Trophy". Tata Motors October Sales Up By 21%

CALCUTTA, Nov 5, 2010 (Washington Bangla Radio / pressreleasepoint) Tata Motors€™ total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in October 2010 were 64,757 vehicles, a growth of 21% over 53,404 vehicles sold in October 2009. The company’s domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for October 2010 were 58,807 nos., a 16% growth over 50,552 nos. sold in October last year.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 444,870 nos., a growth of 50% over 296,354 nos. sold last year.



Land Rover donates their top of the line one millionth Range Rover to Help for Heroes

The landmark one millionth vehicle, a Range Rover Autobiography in ultimate black, has been built at the Solihull manufacturing plant, where three generations of the Range Rover have been built since June 1970.
