New Movie Film Release Promo Review

"Death Certificate"--A Debut Feature film by Rajaditya Banerjee. Review by Chirantan Bhattacharyya

"Death Certificate" is a debut feature film by Rajaditya Banerjee on a very relevant and contemporary issue, made in a regional language. It is his debutante directorial venture based on a story written by his Father Late Debashish Bandyopadhya. The film has been dedicated to his Late Father Debashish Bandyopadhya and also Rajaditya's brother the Late film director Bappaditya Bandyopadhya. The film highlights the journey of a tribal woman from simplicity to the complexities of the modern world. The adversity and insensitivity faced by a helpless woman in a cruel world is the high point of this story. Here is a review by Chirantan Bhattacharya, as he unreels the plot. The film is all set for screening soon, after doing its rounds at many International Film Festivals in U.S.A and Europe.

"Death Certificate" is the Debut Feature Film of Rajaditya Banerjee. It deals with a very relevant issue of the struggles in any backward minority community in India. They are simple people and are unaware of the complicacies of the so called modern world. The story revolves around the life of a tribal woman and her search for her missing husband, who serves water to thirsty passengers at a small railway station in eastern India. As she embarks on this unknown journey, she faces the cruel, corruption in the bureaucracy and tries to come in terms with her own personal loss. The film raises the pertinent question of human values or the lack of it in today's society. We may have globalized technology, but when do we globalize humanity?
