সাবিত্রীর স্বামী রামলখন একটি স্টেশনে জলবাহকের কাজ করত। একদিন রাতে সে আর ঘরে ফিরল না। উদ্বিগ্ন স্ত্রী স্বামীর খোঁজে তারই বন্ধু শিবু ও দাদুকে নিয়ে বেরিয়ে পড়ে। এ ছবির প্রধান বক্তব্য মানুষের শেশ পরিচয় কী? একটা ডেথ সার্টিফিকেটের ভিতরেই কী তার অস্তিত্বের প্রমাণ থেকে যায়? চারপাশে বাংলা সিনেমা নিয়ে অনেক বোদ্ধাই বড়বড় কথা বলেন। কিন্তু এরই মাঝে রাজাদিত্যের এই ছবি।

ম্যাজিসিয়নের অসম্ভব কেরামতির খেলায় ম্যাজিক স্টিকের ‘টাচ’ এ পরতে পরতে খুলে যাচ্ছে এক স্বপ্নের দেশ । পরিচালক রাজাদিত্য ব্যানার্জী পরিচালিত প্রথম বাংলা সিনেমা ‘ডেথ সার্টিফিকেট’ । প্রথম একটি বাংলা সিনেমা যা আসলে এক আশ্চর্য ম্যাজিক । এই বাক্যটি শোনা মাত্র বিশ্বজোড়া বাঙ্গালী অবাঙ্গালী সিনেমা প্রেমী মানুষ রে রে করে উঠবেন আমার ধৃষ্টতা নিয়ে । এত বিখ্যাত সিনেমা পরিচালকের মণি মাণিক্যে ঠাসা আমাদের বাংলা সিনেমার জগৎ । ডেথ সার্টিফিকেট কে প্রথম সেই সিনেমা যা আসলে ‘আশ্চর্য ম্যাজিক’ এই উপমা দেওয়ার ঔদ্ধত্যের জন্য মার্জনা চাইছি না ।বরং দাবী করছি সিনেমাটি দেখুন দর্শকবৃন্দ । আর ভুলে যাওয়া উচিত নয় পরিচালক্ রাজাদিত্য ব্যানার্জির দাদার নাম বাপ্পাদিত্য বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় , একজন সফল খ্যাতনামা চিত্র পরিচালক । তা সত্ত্বেও একটাই ব্যাখ্যা ‘ডেথ সার্টিফিকেট’ সম্পর্কে দেওয়া যায় - বাংলা সিনেমা জগতে ‘প্রথম এক আশ্চর্য ম্যাজিক’ –‘ডেথ সার্টিফিকেট’ ।“দাদা কে সবাই চেনে , সবাই চেনে ফিল্ম ইন্ডাস্ট্রির …… ‘সবচেয়ে বড় কথা মানুষের দর্শকের এত এক্সপেক্টেশন ছিল দাদার কাছে ন্যাচারালি আমার ওপর একটা চাপ ছিল’ । দাদা বাপ্পাদিত্য বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের কাছে যে চাহিদা ছিল দর্শকের তা প্রথম সিনেমা ‘ডেথ সার্টিফিকেট দিয়েই পূরণ করতে শুরু করেছেন ভাই রাজাদিত্য ব্যানার্জী ।

In a first for Bollywood, Keshhav Panneriy’s upcoming family entertainer ‘Jeena Isi ka Naam Hai’ becomes the first film to shoot at White House (Washington DC). The high point of the shoot was filming inside the Constitutional Hall of the White House.

The Constitutional Hall is sandwiched between the George Washington Memorial and the Vice President Joe Biden’s residence, the sprawling white-marbled ballroom was lit up for the first time for a Hindi film sequence. Talking about the same director Keshhav said, “It took us almost a year to get permission. I applied more than 15 times before we were allowed, only because some of my line producers are Americans.”

The film has been shot West Virginia, New York City, Washington and Maryland in US and in Rajasthan, Udaipur, and Mumbai in India. Produced by Purnima Mead of Bibia Films, the film is directed by Keshhav Panneriy which also marks his directorial debut. Starring Arbaaz Khan, Ashutosh Rana, Prem Chopra, Supriya Pathak, Manjari Fadnis and Himansh Kohli, ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’ is slated to release in January 2017.

 

The 59 year old Bengal Association of New Delhi, which have been promoting Bengali Culture and Literature in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) for six decades, has organised a first of its kind Bengali film festival- Padma Jamuna Cine Utsav, at Muktadhara Auditorium at Banga Sanskriti Bhavan, Bhai Veer Singh Marg from 2-4 September, 2016. The face of current Bengali Cinema Prasenjit Chatterjee is the Festival Chairman as well as the chief guest of the opening Ceremony of the Festival at 5 pm on 2^nd September, 2016.
