Keshhav Panneriy’s ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’ shoots at White House

In a first for Bollywood, Keshhav Panneriy’s upcoming family entertainer ‘Jeena Isi ka Naam Hai’ becomes the first film to shoot at White House (Washington DC). The high point of the shoot was filming inside the Constitutional Hall of the White House.

The Constitutional Hall is sandwiched between the George Washington Memorial and the Vice President Joe Biden’s residence, the sprawling white-marbled ballroom was lit up for the first time for a Hindi film sequence. Talking about the same director Keshhav said, “It took us almost a year to get permission. I applied more than 15 times before we were allowed, only because some of my line producers are Americans.”

The film has been shot West Virginia, New York City, Washington and Maryland in US and in Rajasthan, Udaipur, and Mumbai in India. Produced by Purnima Mead of Bibia Films, the film is directed by Keshhav Panneriy which also marks his directorial debut. Starring Arbaaz Khan, Ashutosh Rana, Prem Chopra, Supriya Pathak, Manjari Fadnis and Himansh Kohli, ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’ is slated to release in January 2017.

 


ADHM Opens in North American Top 10

Karan Johar’s critically acclaimed Diwali event film AE DIL HAI MUSHKIL opened in the Top 10 at the North American box office this weekend which is a rare feat for Bollywood films since they play in only a fraction of the theaters as Hollywood movies. The release kicked off on Friday with $760,000 marking the third biggest opening day in history for a Bollywood film in North America behind PK and Dhoom 3 which were both Aamir Khan hits releasing right before the Christmas holidays.

 

ADHM grossed $825,000 on Saturday and is estimated to collect $550,000 on Sunday for an opening weekend gross of $2.14 million. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Fawad Khan, the film has won raves from audiences around the world and has earned four-star reviews from film critics at The Times of India, Bollywood Hungama, Rediff, NDTV, and others. ADHM will continue to play daily at over 300 theaters across North America.

Inspired by the love icon Lord Krishna ‘Kaluwa’ to go on floors

Director Shyam Joshi’s forthcoming film Kaluwa will go on floors on 28th August.

Speaking about his film, the director said, “The title Kaluwa is inspired by the biggest love icon Lord Krishna. Krishna is called as ‘Kaluwa’. My script is about feudal age. Even in today, there are many places in India where the feudal laws are still implemented, where people are still under ‘Thakur’s raaj and law and order does not reach to the last man.”
