In this interview, Monideepa Bagchi talks about about her dance style, her company Shrishti and other issues.Manideepa Bagchi had her initial training in Bharatnayam and Manipuri styles. She started learning dance at the age of six from Naresh Kumar and completed a six year course on Bharatnyam from 'Prayag Sangit Prabhakar'. She received one year training in Odissi dance from Guru Murali Dhar Majhi. She also learnt khathakali from Guru Govindan Kutty. At the age of fifteen she made her debut on the television with a Rabindranath Tagore dance drama under the guidance of Naresh Kumar, her first guru. She also learnt Western contemporary dance, Martha Graham's created modern dance from different campus dancers like Nana Glesin,m Linda Davis and many other famous dancers who visited India at different times, She also learnt Uday Shankar style of dance which is not a mélange of different forms, but a unique style with strong Indian root, capable of expressing a wide range of subjects.

SOURABH GOHO

Son of Renowned Harmonium Exponent PANDIT JYOTI GOHO, Sourabh was nurtured into Tabla Playing from a very tender age of 5.

He started Learning Under The Legendary Tabla Maestro, PANDIT SHANKAR GHOSH, from age 7, since 1998.

His First Performance was at the age Of 10, with his Guruji Pandit Shankar Ghosh's Orchestra in the year 2000.

In 2003,He got a Special Prize from Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture, in an Instrumental Competition. After this, he was invited by Vistaar - An Organization for Promoting Indian Classical Music. This was his Debut Solo Performance in the year 2003. The next Day , his picture came out in Hindusthan Times (HT City) With Reviews appreciating his performance. This is a very rare achievement in a Debut Performance.

On 21st November, 2009 evening , the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum in association with Basanti Bidyabithi opened a portal on Tollywood, The Bengal Film Industry at Science City Auditorium, Kolkata in the graceful presence of eminent actors Soumitro Chatterjee, Madhabi Mukherjee, Lili Chakraborty, Haradhan Banerjee and Ranjit Mullick.

After the opening of the portal, the program continued with Sarod Recital by Ustad Amzad Ali Khan. Tabla Maestro Subhankar Banerjee accompanied him along with Chaiti Halder on the Tanpura.
