Representatives of The Ramakrishna Ashram and Writer-poet Dibyendu Ghosal met M K Narayanan, Governor of the State of West Bengal, India on July 2, 2010 to present the Governor with the Bengali book HOMAGNI that deals with spiritualism. Dibyendu Ghosal and the Governor also discussed Ghosal's two books Night of Ten: La Noche Del Ten and The Mitters Of Kolkata during the meeting, as well as the many poems, novels and stories written by Ghosal that are in circulation on the internet and in print worldwide.
Gauhar Jaan (गौहर जान) (1873–1930) was an Indian singer and dancer or
a tawaif from Calcutta. She was one of the first performers to record
music on 78 rpm records in India.

The author Vikram Sampath was born in Bangalore and completed his Engineering in Electronics and Masters in Mathematics from BITS-Pilani in 2003. He subsequently did an M.B.A. in finance from S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. He currently works in the retail banking division of a leading multinational bank in Bangalore.
