A dream harbored since the year 1988 finally was fulfilled with the launch of “Aahoto Ghorar Khur” music CD at Weaver’s Studio. The man behind the music album is Kalyan Kamal Roy who is an avid music collector who has more than five thousand records and ten thousand CDs, the man is truly a music lover. This is his debut music album. Present at the event was Mrs. Anjum Katiyal (reputed Blues and Jazz Singer), Nondon Bagchi, Sumit Roy, Pandit Ranajit Sengupta, Monojit Dutta and Shireen Sengupta.

In another successful online collaboration between India and Canada, Shweta Subram has released a beautiful cover of the Hindi film song Saadi Galli Aaja from Nautanki Saala starring Ayushmann Khurrana.

Shigeru Kimoto and Rupam Islam perform atl aunch of Roland School of Music Kolkata

Roland School of Music (RSM) Japan opened their branch in Kolkata with Rupam Islam, the lead man of highly popular Bangla band fossils and Shigeru Kimoto, the Marketing Manager of Roland Corporation. The school opened at AMP Vaisakhi Mall, Salt Lake in Kolkata. The academy will offer specialist training programmes to students in collaboration with Roland students from United Kingdom. Students will be encouraged to consider a variety of career options and to develop the skills needed to create their own business opportunities or attract potential industry employers. In addition to working with leading-edge technology, academy students will benefit from a range of master classes and clinics delivered by Roland product specialists and leading industry figures. Boasting state-of-the-art teaching facilities, each academy has been equipped with Roland and Edirol hardware products, Cakewalk’s Sonar production software and Make Music’s Finale notation package.

The First BK Roy Annual Oration was held on 12 April 2013 at the Oberoi Grand in Kolkata. A Peerless initiative, announced on the Group’s 80th anniversary, the annual lecture series is sponsored as a tribute to the Group’s former Managing Director, mentor and exemplar, BK Roy.

Mumbai based bands The Chudail & Demons and Whats in the Name are all set to perform at Blue Frog (Mumbai) this Sunday, April 14th as part of Shamiana.
