Harry Potter Outpacing Transformers in Advance Ticket Sales on Fandango

(LOS ANGELES, July 7) -- The sixth Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, opens next week (on Wednesday, July 15) -- but the film already represents 61% of daily ticket sales on Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination.

Advance ticket sales for the new Potter movie are outpacing advance sales for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the fifth Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, at the same point in those films’ sales cycles (eight days before release date).

Harry Potter Mania Grows, With Nearly 500 Showtimes Already Sold Out on Fandango

(Los Angeles, July 9, 2009) -- Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, reports that nearly 500 showtimes of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (opening next Tuesday night at midnight) are sold out across the country.

The sixth Harry Potter movie currently represents:

•65% of daily ticket sales on Fandango (followed by Bruno, which opens tomorrow and accounts for 19% of ticket sales);

'Harry Potter' Overpowers 'The Dark Knight' for #2 Spot on Fandango's Top Advance Ticket-Sellers List

LOS ANGELES, July 15- "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has eclipsed both "Twilight" and "The Dark Knight" on Fandango's list of Top Ten Advance Ticket-Sellers, taking over the #2 spot from "Knight." The #1 spot continues to be held by "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith."

New Moon Eclipses Twilight as #4 Top Advance Ticket–Seller on Fandango
