Continuing the success of Malayalam movies based on historical characters and events, acclaimed director Viji Thampi is working on Veluthambi Dalava  - a cinema adaptation from the life of Velayudhan Chempakaraman Thampi (1765 - 1809), the Dalawa (Prime Minister) of the Indian kingdom of Travancore between 1802 and 1809) during the reign of Maharajah Bala Rama Varma Kulasekhara Perumal. Velayudhan is regarded as one of the first Indian freedom fighters who rebelled against British occupation forces in the Indian subcontinent.

The filmn is produced by Renjith Rajaputra. The title role of Velayudhan Chempakaraman Thampi will be played by Malayalam actor Prithviraj, whose debut in Malayalam cinema was with Nandanam (2002) and a long string of successful films inlcuding Swapnakoodu, Ananthabhadram, Chocolate, Vaasthavam, Classmates, Thirakkatha, Thalappavu, Puthiya Mukham, and Robinhood. Prithviraj's Tamil films include Kana Kandaen, Parijatham and Mozhi etc.  Prithviraj's Telugu Movie Police Police is also on the floors.

Yavarum Kelir (2010) is an upcoming romantic-comedy Tamil movie directed by K S Ravikumar and produced by Udayanidhi Stalin and Red Giant Movies.

Veteran Indian cinema actor Kamal Hasaan is cast with Trisha Krishnan for the first time in Yavarum Kelir. The musical score of the film is composed by Kamal Hasaan's daughter Shruti Hasan who previously composed the music for the superhit Unnaipol Oruvan (2009) [Buy Tamil Movie DVD Online].

Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai is a popular Indian STAR TV Channel Television show broadcast weekdays at 8:30 PM in UK and 9 PM in India.

The story revolves around a beautiful 20-year young girl Sadhna who has lost her parents, and faces the world with her hot beauty and no parental guidance. Sadhna has been brought up by her maternal uncle and aunt in the historic Indian city of Agra (famous for the Taj Mahal), and she grew up together with her cousin Ragini whose dark complexion is considered a disadvantage by Indian standards of beauty. Sadhna and Ragini are extremely close sisters, though. The show reflects society's opinion of beauty. Ragini and Sadhna are forever facing being compared to one another as one is fair (Sadhna) the other dark (Ragini). The show is based on the problems Ragini's family faces in finding her a husband and the rejections and assaults on her self esteem that Ragini faces due to the colour of her skin. Being closer than real sisters, Sadhna feels her cousins pain and tries her best to find Ragini her Prince Charming, even if it means sacrificing her happiness.
